Checklist

Don't forget:
* Supply the most up-to-date hard copy along with the job if
supplying native files (Quark) supply all the
components needed to run the job - screen and printer fonts and
all high-resolution images.

* Don't supply pages made up in Microsoft Word, Excel or PowerPoint,
these applications are not suitable for commercial printing purposes.

* Ensure that any images for scanning are clearly identified with
page number and position.

* Run the proofs / hard copy with the file name present. To
easily identify the file from which the proof was run.

* Scan images at 300dpi and do not enlarge by more than 125 per
cent within the application file.

* Embed fonts as paths or curves when creating EPS files - if the
application supports this.

* If sending files via FTP name them clearly so they can
be recognised. Our preferred file naming format is:
title_issue_text (or cover).PDF

Ideally, contact your account handler who will generate your own dedicated ftp account.

* Check that colours are split correctly, especially on spot
colour work. For example - Pantone 304 CV and Pantone 304 would
image on separate plates and not as the same colour. In addition
please ensure that any custom colours are named consistently
throughout your product (however, it is possible to remap colours
at Cambrian but at a small cost).

* If at all possible, build in time for proofing. Cambrian
Printers prefer pages from print-ready PDF taking the risks out of
digital production.

* Clearly discuss and agree schedules regarding file supply,
proofing and approval.

* Ensure that a print order is supplied clearly identifying
pagination, binding method, quantities, and any special requirements.

* Inform us if your product is required for a conference, dated
mailing or legal deadlines.

* Talk to us at the earliest opportunity if you are uncertain
about any aspect of the production of your title.

REMEMBER, IT IS ALWAYS BETTER TO SORT OUT ANY ISSUES PRIOR TO PRODUCTION, RATHER THAN TRYING TO OVERCOME THEM WHEN DEADLINES ARE RAPIDLY APPROACHING
