We often get asked how much our printing costs and if we offer competitive pricing. The can vary going form job to job, there are many different factor whihc can alter the price of a printing job. Both the weight and quality of the paper you want us to use can have a large impact on the overall price of the print. There are addons which can bump up the price, such as finishers. WE use bindings and stitching to finish our booklets, which can push the price up but save a lot of time. Our team will work through your given requirements and offer a quote.

Magazine Printing FAQs

We offer two different types of printing services at Cambrian Printing. We use both Digital printing and Lithographic printing. Digital printing is an inexpensive version of lithographic printing. We use top end printers which make our digital prints almost as good as our lithographic printing. Digital printing is used in the situation of needing less copies, as lithographic printing can be expensive if not in bulk.
Paper weight refers to the weight of a ream of standard cut paper. Typically, magazines use 50-, 60- or 70-lb. paper for the interior pages with an 80- or 100-lb. "cover stock" for the front cover. A paper's grade refers to how it reflects light. Magazines print on 3, 4 or 5 grade paper, which is often referred to as " bright," "extra bright" and "ultra," respectively. Magazines with very high circulation print on the thinnest types of gloss text (45-lb to 60-lb). We will be happy to help you with your specific needs, feel free to contact us and we can discuss what sort of paper we can offer you for your magazine.
It’s a three-leg stool - content, production, distribution. Distribution is a beast and the cost will vary dramatically depending on your marketing plan. Under 10,000 copies, you are likely going to be using a sheetfed printer. The pros are higher quality print and paper, the cons are price, speed, and often, a lack of available specialty options. All this is to point out that there are a lot of choices to make when determining the cost of your print magazine. You should decide what you want, where you can be flexible, and then talk to several printers.
