The next time you receive your print work from Cambrian Printers and when you need something that comes to you bang on time, exactly how you wanted it, it could well have been Steve who made it happen. Arriving at Cambrian Printers at the age of 19 as a Pressroom Assistant, Steve has now been working for the company for more than six years. Now a Press Operator and running the large Heidelberg printing press machine, it was Steve’s machine that was up and running first after last year’s floods hit the print room. Steve, like many of the team, has taken up formal training to build up his skills and keep Cambrian Printers moving forward in today’s competitive market place. Having already achieved his Level 2 NVQ in Litho printing, he is now embarking on a Level 3 qualification. Outside of work, Steve is keen on keeping fit and enjoying the great outdoors, with hobbies such as sea kayaking and mountain climbing. He has also just qualified as a Tai Boxing Instructor and has a fight due soon. “I love being outside and being active, which is one of the reasons why I took part in a local charity event with Cambrian Printers colleagues to walk the 15 peaks of Snowdon in just 17 hours, raising over £7,000,” Steve adds. To make life even busier, Steve is also in the middle of buying his first home just down the coast from the Cambrian Printers factory in Aberystwyth, with plans for him and his primary teacher girlfriend to move in just in time for Christmas
